Counseling
At Good Samaritan Ministries, Counseling is deeply relational. We don't fix broken things; we come alongside those who are hurting and make ourselves fully present -- walking with them through the challenges of life. We listen without judgement, deeply connect, and gently minister.
The counseling process can be short and straightforward, or it can be long and complex. It involves two or more people traveling together: one who is hurting, overwhelmed, or in need, and the other as a willing helper who chooses to walk alongside and offer companionship, support, or guidance. The journey together is finished when the person in need is able to continue on alone.
The goal of counseling is not to come to a point where we are "fixed" or have no more problems or pain -- unfortunately, that's not possible in this life. There will always be circumstances and people outside of our control who might hurt or harm us. Instead, the goal of counseling is to find healing for the harm that has already happen to us, and learn how to navigate problems or pain when it surfaces again so we don't stay stuck in it.

Cost
Our services are 100% free. We believe that emotional health and healing should be accessible for every person, regardless of their circumstances, so we will never charge payment in exchange for our services. Additionally, this ministry 100% funded by donations only. That means that we don't sell services or products to cover operating costs, but we rely on the generosity of our communities to support us. So instead of fees, so we simply ask that those who receive care from our counselors and teachers consider donating to the ministry to give others the same opportunity for healing. While we are profoundly grateful for any donations we receive, we will never turn away anyone who is not able to do so.
What To Expect
After you get connected with our office, you'll schedule an initial intake appointment where you'll meet with one of our trained staff. After prayerful consideration, you'll be matched with a counselor best suited to your needs and they will give you a call to set up another appointment.
