Classes

Good Samaritan Ministries offers a variety of classes and support groups throughout the year. All classes are by donation, with no fee to attend.

 

Classes that we offer:

Boundaries

Based on the book by Dr.’s Henry Cloud and John Townsend, Boundaries gives Bible-based teaching about how to set healthy boundaries with our parents, spouses, children, friends, co-workers, and even with ourselves. Using a dialogue teaching style to show how boundaries impact all areas of our lives: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, this class sparks awareness and provides practical steps for application in life. ~ 10 week commitment with homework

Changes that Heal

This class teaches the four basic tasks of becoming mature image bearers of God: Bonding to others - Separating from others - Sorting out good and bad in ourselves and others - Becoming an adult  ~ 12 week commitment

Genesis

Combining the latest in brain research and biblical truth, in an atmosphere of acceptance and grace, the Genesis Process uncovers and heals unconscious belief systems (lies) that negatively affect our behavior and relationships. This class develops healthy relationships and supports spiritual growth to create a lasting change. Students learn how to exchange coping behaviors and other self-destructive behaviors for a healthier responses. ~ 9 month commitment with weekly homework

Nonviolent Communication

All human actions are based on needs and feelings are the indicators to how feelings are . Based on this premise, and modeled after the book by Dr. Marshall Rosenburg,  students will learn how to understand and acknowledge their feelings and needs so that they can create a shared basis with others for more satisfying relationships.  ~  1 day workshop

Healing the Child Within

For those seeking to understand the impact that their past has on their present life, this class helps attendees connect with the wounded inner child. Each student will identify wounds from their own childhood and learn to give care to self. ~ 12 week commitment with homework

Personal Ministry Training

This course is for those seeking personal growth in their relationship with God and others and it doubles as the first year of GSM’s Counselor Training program. Open to all who are seeking to learn how to minister to individuals and groups, the focus of PMT is to introduce the work of Jesus Christ as the counselor. 

Trainees will study how Jesus connected with people through the Holy Spirit, bringing healing and wholeness to the spirit, soul, and body of the person. PMT provides rich, thoughtful training in the concepts of identity and the impact of an individual’s life history. ~ Offered every year October to May
