CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is:

  1. A gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

  2. It uses a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel.

  3. Practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

  4. It improves the body's ability to self-care and can produce profound, positive changes.

My name is Pat Monteith. I've been associated with GSM since 2010 when I sought counseling to help me process my grief from the recent loss of my eyesight (medical event that left me mostly blind). Doctors told me to expect more vision loss. I told them "my God is big and I don't believe it. God has work for me to do for Him."

This led me to what I describe as my healing journey. I tried many different therapies and one of the therapies was CST. After CST therapy I had notable improvement in my sight. While still mostly blind, the porthole I see through became clearer and I could begin to see color rather than haze - a miracle!

My CST therapist suggested I take a class. I finally agreed as I love to learn new things.

Imagine a mostly blind woman riding a train to a place she's never been, to take a class. Yes, most people would consider that crazy!

The class is mostly hands on learning after the material is presented. As soon as I started hands on, I knew I was right where I was supposed to be. I understood that CST was one of my gifts from God because I innately understood and could feel into the craniosacral system. Who knew!? God did. I continued taking classes for 6 years and began practicing out of my home.

When the CST therapist who started and practiced at GSM for about 5 years decided to move on to other interests, I was asked if I was interested in practicing here. After much prayer I heard God say that this is where He wanted me. I said yes. I am truly blessed to see God's hand in my life as I obey His call.

Testimony:

I am a real skeptic about what I consider odd techniques, but I was amazed when my head was pounding and Terri put her CST hands on my neck and back and within minutes my headache was gone, as well as the aching pain between my shoulders. I don't understand how it works, but CST is an awe inspiring technique that brings about healing in a very gentle sequence of energy and touch.
